Growing up, I would visit my family in Puerto Rico pretty regularly, and I always found myself in the kitchen helping my grandma and aunts cook. Even at a young age, I loved the idea that food and cooking always brought people together. About 12 years ago, I started teaching myself how to bake cakes through YouTube videos, and made birthday cakes for family and friends. It became a form of therapy for me, and realized that I loved seeing the joy baked goods brought to myself and others.

Immediately after turning 17, I enlisted in the Army National Guard as a Food Service Specialist. Throughout my 9 years in the Guard, I worked my way up to the rank of Staff Sergeant. Feeding thousands of soldiers, and getting to interact with people from all walks of life validated my love for food, and the power it has to bring people together.

I started Proof House Bakery to stay connected to my Puerto Rican heritage, and share with the community my love for Puerto Rican sweets, while also the amazing selections of bread and pastries across the world.
